מי שהיה, ללא ספק, מגדולי נגני החליליות בכל הזמנים. הראשון שהעמיד את החלילית במרכז הבמה ככלי שווה ערך לכלים האחרים, והפגין יכולות וירטואוזיות. מורה דגול, חוקר ומנצח. מהדמויות שלולא הוא, אולי לא היה לאיש מאיתנו דרך סלולה לצעוד בה.
